Essential Duties:• PRM Process (Product Risk Management) – Understand product manufacturing risks early in the development cycle in order to mitigate. Collaborate with Engineering to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of the design. Make recommendations to modify part specifications and tolerances as necessary.• Pre-Production Run Process – Performed in the production environment to evaluate readiness and resolve production issue before the larger first production run. • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as mechanical, chemical or electrical.• Devise sampling procedures and design or develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting Quality and reliable data.• Manage activities at distribution centers to address issues with Quality on products including spot checks, product holds, sorting and rework. Maintain a database that collects all data associated with these Quality activities.• Analyze Quality warranty data to identify opportunities for improvement.• Generate written corrective actions to communicate product discrepancies to suppliers.• Field customer complaints, resolve Quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions and implementing action plans.• Work closely with the Asia Quality team to coordinate the inspection process and drive improvement. Communicate Quality issues to the team when issues arise.• Determine when statistical process controls and capability studies should be performed on new or existing processes and review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based on findings and perform follow ups to verify effectiveness.• Work with suppliers to communicate our Quality expectations.• Determine if warranty issues are manufacturing or design related and ensure suppliers are held accountable for any defective products they send us via chargebacks or replacements.
