Accountable for the overall system design of medium to high complexity prefabricated applications consisting of one or many prefabricated data center or power architecture modules / skids, and sometimes third party components. Lead the solutions level design while engaging an assigned Engineering Team to develop the components that make up the system. Responsibilities include being the engineering interface to the customer; capturing needs, reviewing / creating specifications, relaying information to and from the Engineering Team, and presentation of the solution.

Lead Electrical Engineer on the Dell Modular Data Center (MDC) team. Multifaceted role includes creating new architectures, technical sales support, project execution, and sustaining support for installed base. Primary engineering responsibility for critical power systems that include switchgear, UPS, Static Transfer Switches, and power distribution. Project scopes range from single module (500 kVA) system to multi­-module deployments (up to 15 MW). Primary business and engineering liaison with third party power equipment vendors. Develop             equipment specifications for integrated power solutions that include switchgear, transformers,    transfer switches, UPS and power monitoring.  Work directly with customers, Consulting Engineers, and Construction Managers to design complete power systems, from primary feeders to rack ­level point of use. Lead electrical engineer in direct support of more 100 MW of modular data centers.

Technical Sales role focused on critical power systems opportunities for large data centers. Projects ranged from $500K to $12M; UPS systems from 500 kVA to 5 MVA. Defined and implemented sales strategies. Worked directly with Consulting Engineers (CE), Construction Management (CM) firms, end users and factory resources to create valued solution. Territory covered from Maine to New Jersey and west to S. Dakota.• Lead technical sales effort that closed $4M project by working closely with customer to define 3.2 MVA UPS system for new data center. Total scope expanded to include new MV electrical service through to and including racks, cooling and software management in data center.• Engaged multiple teams within Schneider Electric to work with customer, CE, and CM to design complete data center (4 MVA critical load capacity). Resulted in $10M sale for complete integrated solution.• Worked with CE to define 5 MVA UPS system that was cornerstone of $13M multi-site data center modernization project. Negotiated terms for roll out including milestone billing, project price list, and liquidated damages. • Achieved the 2012 “100% Award” for exceeding sales quota

Provided technical coordination between factory and customers in the development and delivery of large data center systems. Mediated resolution of project issues, from conceptual design through operational stages. Consulted in production of marketing materials, specifications and scopes of work.• Lead role in factory and field teams in the successful factory testing, delivery, and commissioning of 16 MVA UPS system in New York City.

Primary responsibility on newly launched team was Project Management including assembling sales proposal and post sales submittals, maintaining schedule, coordination of delivery, and field support when required. Worked directly with R&D and third party vendors to develop and deliver custom solutions. • Acted as liaison between CE, CM, R&D, and third party vendors to implement modifications to standard product design and managed contract negotiations and project execution.

Developed and designed UPS associated products such as service bypass panels, switchgear, power distribution units, and transfer switches. Provided support to sales, worked with third party vendors to obtain components and complete OEM solutions. • Part of core team that integrated small panel board manufacturing shop (included in a larger acquisition) into mainstream business operations.

Launched new team focused on bypass panels, switchgear, power distribution units, and battery systems. Worked with factory and outside vendors to provide product solutions.• Acted in lead role in creating design concepts for bypass panels and power distribution units. Identified suitable OEM partners and helped integrate APC technical, manufacturing, and business requirements into the OEM/APC relationship

Held a Journeyman electrician’s license in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Also held Master electrician’s license in Rhode Island. Experience included work in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Acquired an expert knowledge of the National Electric Code as well as NFPA guidelines for machine control design and OSHA safety requirements. Experience in specification, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution system equipment including switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and circuit breakers. Specialized experience included work with machine control systems, PLC and electronic controls, and safety systems using infrared, proximity, limit, voltage, and current sensors. Assisted with the design and building of prototype machines and control systems.
