The Hitchin Taekwon-Do Club was established in 1987 which makes it the longest and oldest ITF Taekwon-Do club in Hitchin and possibly Hertfordshire. I took the club over with just 6 students in 1990. We now have clubs in Hitchin, Stevenage and Barton-Le-Clay which form HSTS Taekwon-Do with over 500 students and over 34 different classes running throughout the week. We take pride in having a high Instructor to student ratio with 9 BTC registered Instructors and dedicated age related classes to be able to cater from age 4 to 60+, you can find Instructors listed HERE. We have dedicated children’s classes for 4-7/8yrs and 8/9-12yrs, as well as 13yrs/adults classes. This enables us to run age specific classes but keeping the discipline found within the Martial arts.The clubs and myself are members of the UTA (Unified Taekwon-Do Association), UKITF, ITF (International Taekwon-Do Federation) and the BTC (British Taekwon-Do Council). These are in turn the governing bodies for Taekwon-Do in the UK.I have attended many of the late Gen.Choi Hong Hi (the founder of Taekwon-Do) seminars and Instructors courses and more recently Grandmaster Choi Jung Hwa 9th Dan (Gen.Choi Hong Hi’s son) to enable me to teach the true techniques without distortion. I have a dedicated Instructors team that consist of fully qualified and recognised BTC registered Instructors who are as committed as I am to teach anyone who wants to learn.I take pride in attending weekly training under my Instructor Grandmaster Trevor Nicholls 9th Dan and have assisted him with many seminars throughout the world which I believe gives an authority in what we teach at HSTS.Myself and my team of Instructors are dedicated to teach Taekwon-Do to anyone who wishes to learn and believe that Taekwon-Do is for anyone and everyone. So, whether you are fit, unfit, young, or older you to can learn this exciting form of self-defence.Although it is much more than just self-defence, it can be life changing.
