I mentor high school students as they design and build training and flight hardware for the International Space Station. I coordinate what the trainers and astronauts need to what the students will design and build.

I help train the crew on the use, upkeep and repair of habitability equipment on the International Space Station. This includes the Galley System, the Crew Quarters, Plug in Plan and the Waste and Hygiene Compartment. I have been involved in the development and integration of each of these systems.

Flight Rail is developing a pneumatic, high speed train concept. My job was to assist in the development and building of scaled working models to test and demonstrate the concepts and fesibility of the new valves, magnetic couplers, hydraulics, wheels guides, materials and structures needed for the full scale train.

I developed lesson plans, labs, activities and projects to help the students get a good feel for the various topics of science. Sometimes I had to repair or build lab equipment like the electronic ticker timers or building the Wilson Cloud Chambers. Some of the projects included building generators, cardboard boats and Rube Goldberg machines. A significant portion of time was spent developing the curriculum for the year as well as making improvements through the years. Physical Science classes included Physics, Chemistry and Geology requiring a strong base of knowledge in the material and details to keep the students intrigued. Physics included rocket launches. Chemistry included labs every week. Geology included hikes in the hills with fault line identifications through the town.
