I am currently the Airport Engineering Principal for the Reading based Aviation Team, recent project experience has include; British Virgin Islands, Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport Runway Rehabilitation Project. Jacobs was commissioned as Technical Consultants and Project Manager for the resurfacing of the runway. For the Design and Tender Administration I was Project Principal, providing technical direction and oversight in the preparation of the design and of the tender and contract documentation. I was responsible for ensuring the appropriateness of the design solutions being developed and the robustness of the tender and contract data being provided. Following award of the Contract I was the Employers Engineer for the FIDIC Construction Contract, responsible for the oversight of the daily contract administration and construction monitoring; approval of Contractors Health & Safety, Quality and materials submissions; approval of monthly accounts, assessment and agreement of contractual matters including delays and specification deviations and the acceptance of the completed works. Project Level Technical Lead for the Gatwick Airport Project Genesis RIBA 2 Design. The project is to enhance airfield capacity by enabling dual-runway operations to enable take-off by Code C aircraft in parallel with landings and take-offs on the existing Main Runway. To facilitate the optimisation of the runways, significant airfield wide infrastructure developments and modifications are necessary comprising a number of disparate elements, each of which ordinarily would be an individual project. I am responsible for the overarching technical leadership of the design team, requiring, co-ordination and integration of the multi-disciplinary design team that includes Airport Planners, Pavement Engineers, AGL Specialists, MEP Engineers and Flood Study Consultants who are delivering these elements as a complete project.

As Discipline Lead for the Airfield Engineering Design Team within the Aviation & Airports Group I provide technical leadership to the team with a focus on developing the highest standards of service delivery and capability while also providing technical direction and a focus for linking technical design and detailing to constructability.Dual Foxtrot Taxiways Feasibility Study, Dublin Airport, I was the Technical Lead for the successful delivery of the Dual Foxtrot Taxiways Feasibility Study. I provided the principal technical interface with the Client for delivery of the study while also providing the technical direction for the multi-disciplinary aviation team who were located at numerous Jacobs offices. While developing and refining the preferred geometric solution I was also responsible for identifying and mitigating interface issues at the project periphery for resolution at later project phases.Melbourne Airport, Design Manager for the Scheme & Detailed Design Stage of the A$475 million Taxiway Zulu & T2T Aprons Project, a consolidation of the Taxiway Zulu Program and T2T Apron Project that allow the expansion of the International Terminal and associated aprons at Melbourne Airport, Australia. Drawing upon my significant aviation expertise I led the stakeholder consultation and scheme design development for the project, delivering to an extremely challenging programme. In addition to the Melbourne Taxiway Zulu & T2T Aprons Project I have provided technical oversight and direction for a diverse range of airfield engineering projects being executed within the Aviation team, examples include Heathrow Airport, Taxiway Sierra A Upgrade Project and Aircraft De-icing Facilities Project both of which are part of the current Heathrow 5 year (Q6) Resilience Programme that ensures that Heathrow has the capability to meet current and future demands both through aircraft type and capacity.

Discipline Lead for the Airfield Engineering Team within the Airports & Pavement Management Group.Melbourne Airport, Design Manager for the Feasibility Stage of the Taxiway Zulu Program. A project to deliver significant and complex taxiway developments and diversions in order to allow the expansion of the International Terminal and associated aprons at Melbourne Airport, Australia. I led the stakeholder consultation and optioneering of design solutions for the Taxiway Zulu feasibility design phase. As a result of alignment improvements the team have developed a design with a proposed saving of 5,000m2 of pavement that equates to approximately £1.5M in construction costs.Technical Leadership and oversight for feasibility and solutions development project stages for Heathrow Airport, Q6 Enabling Wide Bodied Growth - Taxiway Bravo Realignment.Jacobs Project Manager for the Airfield Engineering aspects of the early stage Feasibility Study for the Skylon Project, a European developed runway launched multi-use spacecraft.Technical Design Manager for the Gatwick Airport Taxiway & AGL Rehabilitation Project, I was responsible for technical oversight of the delivery of the design aspects of this project utilising his detailed airfield knowledge coupled with extensive project experience at Gatwick Airport.

Discipline Lead for the Airside Design Team within the Airports & Aviation Division. Designers Project Manager for the Design & Build Rehabilitation of Taxiways Papa & November at Gatwick Airport, I was responsible for the technical oversight of the development of rehabilitation and pavement repair options and for being the principal design interface with the Contractor. During the course of the construction I oversaw and reviewed technical responses to Contractor queriesJacobs Project Manager for Annual Airside Maintenence projects at Heathrow Airport, providing the strategic management of Jacobs engineers undertaking a diverse range of maintenance related inspections and studies including, Runway SCANNER Surveys, Taxiway PCI Surveys, Blast Screen other Structures and Tunnels inspections and enhancement of the general Maintenance Implementation Strategy.Jacobs Discipline Lead for the airports and civil engineering design aspects for the Gatwick South Terminal Development including the Baggage, Pier 2, Pier 1 and South Gate Replacement Projects. The role included the design management and oversight of airfield planning, pavement evaluations and reinstatements, drainage design, vehicle movement modelling and the associated pavement markings, signage and barriers and bollards detailing.

Responsible for the planning and design development of the re-profiling of the runway at Farnborough Airport. This included the inspection of existing pavements, investigation of suitable surfacing materials and development of profile options.During the implementation of the airside infrastructure works on site, I was Task Leader responsible for providing head office support to the on site supervision team. This involved answering design related queries, materials approvals and inspection of the completed works.Completed detailed PCI runway pavement inspection at Shannon Airport that included pavement inspection, co-ordination with airfield operations, analysis of data and preparation of technical report.Engineers site representative responsible for the supervision of the implementation of services and utilities diversion works (gas, water, storm and foul water drainage) at Farnborough Airport. Responsibilities included ensuring completion of the works in accordance with the specification, co-ordination of the works with the client and airport operations and the assessment and agreement of monthly accounts and contract variations.

Design Manager responsible for the design and contract document preparation of a 15,000m2 PQC and Marshall Asphalt apron extension at Bristol International Airport. The design included apron layout, pavement design and the investigation and design of innovative drainage solutions.Undertook the management of the implementation of a number of diverse projects at Bristol International Airport associated with the construction of the new terminal building. The projects included the installation of stand-by generators; installation and commissioning of the airside security post; soft landscaping; construction of a car park administration building and re-marking existing aircraft aprons.Management of a design team undertaking minor highway and environmental works within Bristol with an annual budget exceeding £5.0 million. Responsible for the allocation, programming and monitoring of schemes undertaken by the team.
