Key GM role, with responsibility for all of the operations at Dublin airport. A central element of this position was business development, tendering for and winning new contracts through a professional and highly competitive service offering. I was responsible for financial management and control, monitoring budgets and tracking performance, collaborating with the head of finance to ensure strategic decisions were being informed by clear evidence. With a large number of employees, I also led the expansion of staff training and development, ensuring staff had opportunities to progress and were delivering an exemplary level of service. Following a period working in airports in Sydney, Australia, I took on a major challenge of bringing the ICTS business into the Irish market. This meant challenging the incumbent operator and building the ICTS brand in Ireland. Within 12 months I had successfully secured the operations for all security at Shannon Airport and laid the groundwork for the company’s financial success in the future. My position required excellent sales and pitching skills and I confidently created relationships with decision makers that I have cultivated since. Leading a new business in Ireland also meant establishing all processes and procedures from scratch and setting up the company for success.
