At 17 years old when I started my first job as a cashier, I consistently found myself questioning the point-of-sale system my place of employment used. All the little inconveniences that made my day slightly worse forced me to ask questions like "Why does this item need to be entered manually?" or "Wouldn't it be easier to automatically accept payment once the customer swiped their card?". I figured why not give it a go and see what coding is all about? I created my first "Hello World!" program and the rest is history. My curiosity transitioned into a passion for code as I obtained my degree in Computer Science and entered the world of software engineering.Today, I work as a Software Engineer developing a point-of-sale system that services many of the top 100 furniture retail companies in the industry. Working on all aspects of full-stack development, I've obtained the skills that allow me to understand the entire stack of a major software application. I've worked closely with PM, delivered crucial feature work on a time crunch, and mentored new engineers onto my team.
