As Hospital Administrator, Canadian Forces Hospital Cold Lake, directed all administrative, financial, personnel and materiel management activities of this 50 bed acute/primary care hospital. Provided capable and effective leadership to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in seven functional areas including: housekeeping (janitorial), food services, medical records, finance, administration, admission and discharge, and logistics.As Medical Associate Officer at Canadian Forces Air Command Headquarters, actively participated in the development and implementation of financial, personnel, administrative and health care entitlement policies and programs, providing professional guidance and support to staff at 14 separate health facilities in seven provinces.Negotiated complex inter-governmental/private sector supply and service contracts and agreements.Developed multiple community based emergency service plans and acted as medical director for the Cold Lake and Moose Jaw International Airshows.In consultation with health care, legal staff and other subject matter experts, researched and assessed care needs of entitled patients, developing and implementing client focussed care plans, determining outcomes and monitoring resource utilization.

As a 'physician extender' provided primary health care to Canadian Forces personnel on an independent basis in remote locations including: Surgical repair of wounds/excision of minor lesions, assessment, diagnosis and treatment including pharmacotherapy/intravenous therapy within delegated medical act guidelines, emergency medical care, outpatient treatment, maintenance of clinic dispensary including narcotics and other controlled substances.Clinical instructor at CFMSS teaching anatomy and physiology, basic laboratory procedures, electrocardiograph technique, intravenous therapy, diagnosis and treatment of minor medical conditions and illnesses, and medical terminology.Functioned as an aeromedical evacuation technician on a rotating basis.
