I am a Molecular Cell Biologist dedicated to solving problems through the design of insightful, creative approaches to address clinically relevant questions. During my 25+-year academic research career I have collaborated with the private sector and with cross-functional personnel at all levels. My background includes applied genetics in translational mouse models of diseases including cancer, opioid use disorder, and epilepsy. I have expertise in DNA, RNA and protein purification and analysis; bioinformatics; next generation sequencing; PCR assays; and cell culture and transfection. I am trained in general laboratory and radiation safety, blood-borne pathogens, as well as in human subjects research (CITI) and HIPAA. I am excellent at training and mentoring laboratory personnel, and at oral / written communication.
