This is an expanded role of what I did from 2011-2016 for just NBCUniversal. The wonderful thing about NBCUniversal being part of Comcast is the opportunities it opens up to work with both companies on big issues like the future of the Internet. I'm still focused on Internet & Video at the IETF as well as the Streaming Video Technology Alliance - not to forget IGF, ICANN, and other groups like CTA. Evolving Video and the Internet remains what I spend much of my time on everyday.

The IETF Trust is responsible for the management of the assets, trademarks, copyrights arising rom the work of the IETF and assets of the IETF such as software and domains for the benefit of the Internet.The IETF Trust also holds the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) intellectual property for ICANN.

The GGIE Taskforce is a subset of the Web and TV Interest Group, whose goal is to discuss the end to end Internet digital video ecosystem focusing on all phases of the video life cycle: Capture-Edit-Package-Distribute-Find-Watch for both professional and non-professional digital video. Since its start in late 2014 GGIE has worked on advanced content distribution approaches including use of direct IPv6 addressing of content in CDNs, content recognition in managing media creation and distribution workflows.

Led a group engaged in pushing the boundaries of how content and the Internet work together. Tackled engineering topics such as video networking and protocol standards, content identification (watermarking & fingerprinting), privacy, security, naming and addressing. Engaged in Internet governance issues around domain names, building a safe and secure Internet, and content access. Cybersecurity, and malware, and provide expertise to NBCUniversal's Legal and Public Policy groups, and often work with Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, on projects of mutual Interest.
