Advanced Counselor Training, LLC was started in 2011 as a response to help prepare the NJ Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) workforce for regulatory changes that required NJ LPCs to receive specific supervision training. Since 2011 this training series has been custom tailored from 24 - 45 hours to meet specific state needs, and customized specifically to that state’s laws and regulations. Nationally teaching ASAM Criteria workshops (3rd and 4th Editions), for Train for Change which is the training arm of The Change Companies. These courses are offered nationwide by Train for Change. This application-focused training provides an in-depth look at the ASAM Criteria, including how to properly utilize, justify and write up the medical necessity criteria for a given client. Also covered is continued stay and transition criteria. The ASAM Criteria training (3rd and 4th Editions) allows participants practice skills at all service stages: assessment, engagement, treatment planning, continuing care and transition planning.
