The Australian GFG Alliance business is a large diverse group that includes steel mills, innovative steel products, recycling, mining operations and sustainable energy supply. The Major Projects stream is a new strategic division in the GFG Alliance portfolio and has experienced significant growth with revenues in excess of $250m. The GFG Alliance has recently been awarded significant contracts for the supply of innovative steel solutions to some large infrastructure projects, including the Melbourne Metro Rail Project, WestConnex and West Gate Tunnel Projects.As Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ), I have over-arching responsibility for the establishment and successful delivery of corporate governance, financial reporting, budgets, forecasting, processes, working capital improvement, systems and talent management for this recently created business stream. Estia provides clinical, nursing, cleaning, food and maintenance services to over 6,000 residents through a network of sixty-eight aged care facilities. Group turnover of $550m with a workforce of 7,000 employees.Assisted with financial reporting to Board of Directors and ASX Investor Presentation. Led Finance, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Credit Collections and Resident Billing for the Estia Health Group. Seven direct reports across Australia and 35 indirect reports. Completed a restructure of the Finance, Payroll and Credit functions by managing existing talent as well as transitioning new capable talent into the business.Promoted stronger engagement between the Finance/Shared Services functions and the business. Site visits and attendance/presenting by my direct reports at monthly operations meetings has instilled a deeper understanding of the business. This has promoted improved two-way communication and greater empathy and understanding.Reviewed all supplier terms, resulting in a positive business benefit. Many suppliers’ terms were transitioned from weekly to monthly.Streamlined the documentation process for all resident admissions. Tenix Solutions is the market leader in parking, traffic, tolling and collection solutions in Australia and NZ. Providing integrated parking solutions, infringement management and payment services in the public and private sectors.Successfully led a whole of business review resulting in increased contract profitability (reduced revenue leakage and identified cost savings on major contracts), reduction of $1.0m invested in working capital, identification of R&D project activity resulting in tax minimisation and led a company-wide programme to eliminate excess discretionary spend.With significantly large IT project spend (for State and Local Government clients), as CFO I spear-headed the transformation, development and implementation of a successful IT Project Management Office ( PMO ) Resulting in better IT resource planning, lift in project profitability and concise and transparent reporting.Developed and mentored a high performing finance/commercial team that worked collaboratively with the Business Development and Operational segments of the business.

One Group Retail had private equity investment from a market leader in AMP Capital. One Group Retail are the largest provider of retail fit outs in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Clients include Specsavers, BankWest, Cotton On, Witchery, Priceline Pharmacies, The Reject Shop and JB Hi-Fi. Group revenue of $250m, with a workforce of 250 employees.As the CFO, I worked closely with the Board of Directors and the Private Equity partners to lead the successful integration of three diverse business operations resulting in head count reduction and the injection of capable skilled talent. CFO responsibility included the established of a centralised Shared Services function from a geographically dispersed function. Led the centralisation of finance, accounts payable, credit and payroll to better service the business operations.Worked closely with the business, CEO and the Board of Directors to successfully manage a number of key business transformation initiatives. These included the selection and implementation of a new IT platform (Epicor ERP system), secured new finance facilities with banking partners allowing investment for business growth, centralised all finance and commercial functions, closed redundant manufacturing sites, implemented strong governance processes across the business, improved customer collections and pricing models and built a high performing shared service function.As the Chief Financial Officer, I led business strategy and new opportunities into parallel markets. Divisional Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ) of the largest operating division (Manged Services) in the Spotless Group, with responsibility for $1.2b of revenue. As CFO, I was accountable to a workforce of 25,000 employees operating across all states and territories in Australia as well as New Zealand. As the CFO, I had responsibility for the financial and commercial management of services being provided to a wide range of clients. The client base was spread across food services / catering, cleaning, soft / hard facility management solutions to a large number of government and private sector clients such as Commonwealth Department of Defence, Health / Hospitals / Medical Centres / Aged Care, Resource and Mining, State Government clients such as Department of Housing / Department of Education and Public Private Partnership ( PPP ) sectors. As the Chief Financial Officer of the largest division, I managed a team of 70 people spread across the Asia Pacific region, and headed a major business transformation project from a geographic to a segment business structure. As CFO, I worked collaboratively with the Divisional CEO, and operational General Manager's to reduce investment in working capital by $40m through improved collection performance, negotiation of supplier terms and expedited conversion of WIP into cash, allowing free cash for investment decisions.Managed strategic M&A activity for the group, and established a high performing finance function that worked seamlessly with the business and corporate head office.
