Engineer In Charge
CurrentCollaborate with a team of 3 EIC's on one of NEP’s premier mobile units (SSCBS) leading the daily activities of the mobile unit interacting with 10-15 Production and Technical Managers to ensure 200+ technicians on-site are equipped and ready to oversee all broadcasting functions.Primary productions include: NFL on CBS Sports, PGA Masters, PGA Championships as well as regular PGA Tour Golf.• Train local staff on how to operate the systems; oversee teams of 5-10 people on-site• Configure broadcast and networking equipment in the broadcast control room; collaboratedefining the workflow for the control room alongside the engineering team• Ensure broadcast equipment (routers, switchers, audio consoles, networking equipment, multi-viewers, cameras, etc.) meets client specifications• Troubleshoot any problems that might occur within the infrastructure• Ensure the broadcast is successful by managing compound signal distribution and performingelectronic maintenance and service as neededUtilize managerial experience working in television production technology with expertise and knowledge of SPMTE 2110, production, and equipment for major commercial and cable TV networks to mentor and challenge recruits newly familiar with the industry.Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact with clients and individuals of all levels to ensure customer satisfaction.Work extensively with Linux, Cisco/NEXUS operating system commands, shell scripting, and tools. Support broadcast event activities by gathering intelligence on functionality, best practices and configurations as required to interoperate with LAWO and SMPTE 2110, 2022 standards and how they relate to the interaction between SDP, RTP and NMOS and troubleshooting utilizing various tools including Telestream Prism and Bridge Technologies vb440 ProbeFamiliar with Cisco NEXUS, SDN
