The Club has developed a vocabulary program for all teachers and home schooling parents called "Big Word of the Day!" In 1993, when snowboarding was pretty ragged, Kevin and Brian Delaney from Boulder, CO, asked me to help out in building a company. Kevin had just returned to Boulder after winning the first International Snowboarding Federation (ISF) Two Year World Championship title. This was the first World Championship in Snowboarding. It included 250 athletes representing 15 countriesOur mission was to improve the image of snowboarding, make it respectable, and bring it into the mainstream. Working with the Aspen Ski Company, Vail Resorts, and Copper Mountain, we offered multi-day snowboard camps for adults that were super fun. Our clients were millionaires and billionaires, celebrities, media leaders, and plenty of plain folk who just wanted a taste of the feeling of floating on snow. Tony Robbins had us make him a size 16 custom boot!We consulted with ski areas, product manufactures, clothing companies, conducted board and binding evaluations for Snow Country Magazine, and designed and build custom snowboards for Dodge. Sport Obermeyer in Aspen created a custom clothing line for us. A dozen snowboard manufactures provided boards for our campers.By 1997, Delaney had over a billion advertising impressions. On the Today Show twice, Brian taught Matt Lauer how to ride, live on tv from Beaver Creek, Colorado. Kevin taught Kathy Lee and Regis to ride live on their show. We had cover stories in almost every sports and airline magazine in the United States, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, London Times, and many more publications such as Cooking Lite and Men's Magazine. Kevin was the first snowboarder to be inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame and was the NBC commentator for the Olympic snowboarding competion in Japan in 2002.It was a blast for me being the old guy learning to carve turns and float the powder. I delivered chocolate covered strawberries on a silver platter to our campers while they were in lift lines!

We designed the first computer-based training courses for AT&T, Federal Express, Target Stores, and others beginning in the early 80s. Conducted a world wide training cost analysis for Xerox in 1979 and the same for AT&T during the breakup of the baby bell system. Authored Training Cost Analysis - A Practical Guide first published in 1980 by Marlin Press and later revised and published by the American Society for Training and Development in 1985.

Founder and Co-Chair of this first ever Department of Leadership and Organization Transformation in the world.

Built the department from scratch identifying and hiring faculty to build the first accredited graduate education program in this field. The Co-Chair was my very capable partner and wife Marian. It was and continues to be important to have a balance of male/female leadership traits in any executive team and boardroom.

Project Manager for the $20 million Advanced Instructional System - the first computer based training system designed by the Air Force. Managed the conversion of a 13 week weapons mechanic course to a self-paced, computer managed training environment with computer delivered instruction - the first in the Air Force. Responsible for overall project cost analysis and defining manpower impacts on instructional classroom staffing. Resulting program demonstrated cost savings of over $6 million per year. Average time to competency for students declined to 5 weeks from 13.
