Managed development of thedock.com, a B2B marketplace for the exchange of used industrial equipment and ancillary services. Major application functions included auctions, classifieds, service requests, user profiles, content management, and system administration. Responsible for planning, execution, and control following iterative and incremental development practices. Team size peaked at over 40 full time members from Information Architecture, Creative, Content, Quality Assurance, and Technical disciplines. A production-deployed system was delivered using BroadVision, Moai (auction engine), and Oracle.

During this time I started as a Senior Software Engineer performing the role of lead support engineer for TestBench, a diagnostic expert system development product. In this role I worked extensively with customers and prospects in developing knowledge based solutions to diagnostic problems. After that I became involved in development of custom applications primarily for telecommunications clients. Significant project assignments included:• Lead developer for C++ Windows based application for use within a distributed call center. Oversaw full life cycle activities from requirements through deployment.• Lead UI developer for complex telecommunications ordering application using C++. Designed UI screens using User Centered Design technique.• Developer for telecommunications inventory management application. Defined use cases and domain object model, designed and implemented various classes and components in C++.I later transitioned to a Software Project Manager role, managing multiple custom application development projects for telecommunications clients. In this role I was responsible for planning, execution, and monitoring following iterative development methodology. Team sizes ranged from 5 to 10 full time members. During this time, I was an Engineer in the Robotics Institute at CMU. I was responsible for performing advanced technology projects for numerous manufacturing applications at manufacturing related companies in the Southwestern Pennsylvania area.
