The ALS Educator's primary responsibility will be supporting, coordinating, and conducting American Heart Association classes that are in the educator’s AHA discipline. The educator will support classes that are held at any of the RWJBarnabas Campuses and/or any RWJBarnabas sponsored offsite location that is scheduled by the department. The educator will maintain all training equipment, complete any daily reports, and/or department checklist as outlined by the Director. The educator will work with maintain par levels of paperwork, equipment, and test at the designated locations. The educator may assist, in but not limited to, EMT programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands only CPR events, health fairs, and other community events. The primary responsibility will be supporting, coordinating, and conducting Emergency Medical Technician initial and renewal classes that meet N.J.A.C. 8:40A guidelines. The educator will support classes that are held at any of the RWJBarnabas Campuses, Rutgers Medical School, and/or any RWJBarnabas sponsored offsite location that is scheduled by the department. The educator will providing oversight to assure that the program content and instructional program complies with the standards and guidelines set forth in the program curriculum. The will also assist with the recruitment, selection and orientation of the program medical advisor and instructional staff. The educator will create a schedule based off the curriculum and will schedule instructors to meet the requirements of students to instructor ratio. The educator will maintain student records, evaluations, and program examination results. The educator will serve as a liaison to the NJDOH. The educator may assist, in but not limited to, AHA programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands only CPR events, health fairs, and other community events.
