I've been a CFP® Instructor for quite a few years now. In fact, I have taken 7 cohorts through all 7 classes of the pre-certification curriculum. Currently my teaching focuses on the Live Review. This is a 4-day review that students attend a few weeks before taking the CFP® exam. The exams are offered in March, July, and November, so the Live Review classes are scheduled generally the month before.

I taught the graduate-level certificate course of study consisting of the seven courses required to sit for the CFP® exam. Each series begins with General Principles of Financial Planning, and then moves right through Insurance Planning, Investment Planning, Income Taxation, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, and then a final Capstone course.I am proud of my students - it is a joy to see them achieve their professional goals and assist their clients.

I took five academic cohorts through all 7 certification courses required by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards over 5 annual cycles..

MHN Government Services was a subcontracter to the US Department of Defense, and supplied CFP® professionals on an on-demand basis for assignments. This work usually took me to drill weekends, Yellow Ribbon Events, and recruiting stations in SE Florida, as well as to St. Croix to staff National Guard events there. My purpose was to be available to meet with service personnel to support and educate on financial issues.
