790 bedroomsEvent capacity for up to 2000 delegatesI joined the Hotel as part of the busy conference & events sales team, handling all incoming enquiries for meetings and events for between 2 and 2000 delegates, managing the diary for 33 meeting rooms and 790 bedrooms. In this role, I was responsible for events from the initial enquiry stage through to contracting, with an important focus on both customer service and conversion.I then progressed to a new role at the Hotel as Event Planner, where I organised events at the largest residential convention centre in the UK outside of London. Liaising with clients to create accurate function sheets in order for all departments of the hotel to be prepared and briefed on forthcoming events. I was responsible for revenue forecasting and management of all own events. The role also involved conducting showrounds of the property to existing and prospective clients, ensuring the Hotel secured all future opportunities.

In this role, I was responsible for the day to day supervision of the front of house element of the club in Drogheda, reporting directly to the General Manager. Duties were varied to include marketing, telesales, event promotions, troubleshooting, face to face sales, showrounds etc. The position was highly target driven, also with an emphasis on customer service and maintenance of standards within the club.

During the course of my studies I worked part-time at this family restaurant which catered for a-la-carte dining, sunday lunches and social events for up to 150 guests. My main priority during this position was the running of the bar and drinks service, however I was also responsible for managing reservations, hosting guests and managing tables. I also assisted with administrative duties and promotions.

Following completion of my ordinary Degree, I took a year out to gain industry experience in my chosen field. I was recruited to become part of the events division at Teamlink Travel, a sports tour operator based in Derby, UK. My main focus during this role was to co-ordinate sales & marketing activities for university sports tour "CalellaFest". As events co-ordinator, I also benefited from great responsibility and experience during the festival overseeing rep teams, operations and logistics for the 2000 attendees.

I worked full-time at Donnelly's during the summer period from May - September, 2005-2007, whilst on summer break from full-time education. In this role I worked in the busy Spar Office, which supplied Fresh produce to Spar, Europsar, Costcutter throughout Ireland; managing delivery routes nationwide which entailed processing orders to a value of between c. €100 - €10,000 on a daily basis, liaising with drivers, up-selling promotional products and offering a high standard of customer service. I learnt an abundance about organisation, time management and administrative office skills during my time at Donnelly's.

I worked part-time at the Bridgeford, which comprised of a busy Sunday lunch restaurant trade, large lounge and function rooms which could cater for up to 300 guests. During this role I worked as both waiting and bar staff, as and when was required by each department. I was eventually a keyholder for the premises, entrusted with supervising the business approximately 2 nights per week.
