I have experience, skills and qualifications in criminal justice and prison reform, human rights and rule of law, and in anti-corruption. Over the past 16 years I have been advising Governments and law enforcement agencies internationally on wide ranging criminal justice matters, including prison reform in Pakistan, management of violent extremist in the Maldives, Prison Officer recruit training in Zimbabwe and community corrections in Kenya. I have worked closely with UN agencies, prison services, the judiciary, police agencies, civil society organisations, anti-corruption bodies, NGOs and other criminal justice stakeholders. I have undertaken consultancies in East, Southern and West Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia, South America and Oceania, and have well developed cultural awareness and appreciation of the political social, economic and cultural environments in these regions.My work has involved carrying out problem and needs identification, options development, implementing solutions, monitoring and evaluating for results, and influencing public service and NGO organisations in reform activities and towards compliance with international standards and good practices.Of recent times I have had several consultancies concerning terrorists and violent extremist prisoners.
