I didn't really know what a forklift was when I graduated University. Or more accurately, I knew what a forklift was but I didn't pay much attention to the industry, let alone think I would have a passion for it. All I knew was that I wanted a career with a good company that would give me a chance to learn. When I first started with Yale Industrial Trucks in 1998 I was green. As a young man, with no business experience, I needed to learn everything I could about business, customer service, and sales. I was in the perfect position to fail miserably but I was fortunate to have an experienced mentor who took a chance to hire me, and more importantly, the patience to teach me what I needed to succeed. He taught me my first lessons on how provide exceptional value to my customers and pay attention to details that mattered most. It took many persistent years to learn what was needed to grow a business, about our customer's industry specific needs and how to solve them, and how to help your employees succeed. I am fortunate to have had a successful career in sales, then transition that to the opportunity to lead an experienced and talented team as Branch Manager/Corporate Sales Trainer, and now as Director of Operations. I am proud to have the opportunity to help others just as I was and see new faces join a growing industry.
