    I joined Computer Software Ltd (CSL) as a Project Manager. CSL was a £1M Turnover business with 12 staff at this time. CSL was an entrepreneur led owner managed business and after 3 years I was promoted to Technical Director and joined the board.I worked closely with the Owner/Chairman to drive the business forward and was part of a successful MBO in 1998 to acquire the company. The MBO was funded by two VC’s, Elderstreet and Nat West IT. The owner exited, as planned, with 100% cash settlementI sat on the main board as Technical Director. With the assistance of the VC’s we successfully floated the company on the Alternative Investment Market in August 2000 as Software4Sport plc (CSW)After difficult trading circumstances in 2002, I was asked by the board to take over the running of the company and became Managing Director. The following year the company recorded a 5% increase in revenue and 600% increase in EBITDA.The company embarked on a series of acquisitions driven by the CEO and partner of Elderstreet (VC backer). Alongside significant organic growth the acquisitions drove the business to become a Top 10 UK software company, with annualised revenues of £65m, EBITDA of £18m (28%), and 650 employees.CS Group provides market-leading software solutions - including Customer Relationship Management, Financials, Enterprise Resource Planning, Service Management, and Application Modernisation - to a range of sectors, including industrials, charities and membership organisations, legal firms, football clubs and the public sector.In March 2007 the company was acquired by Hg Capital and then almost immediately the business was sold to Hellman & Friedman who merged CS Group with the IRIS Group.
