Glen MendesFine Art Photo- illustratorI am a mid career change ArtistI am currently a self employed Visual Artist with 10+ years of experience as a practising artist and employed part-time at an Agency named Artisan People placed within the Museum and art gallery sector in London.I am currently looking Art Gallery representation.Glen Mendes was born in Southend on sea, Essex. Working alongside theatrical and scenic artists.He studied Graphics at the Southend on Sea College of Art; entering as a career change he achieved a BA Hon’s at UAL School of the Art Institute at Wimbledon. 2015 He received an MFA from the Camberwell UAL Institute College of Art in 2017. Mendes lives and works in London. Starting at an early age using traditional oils Glen's work was seen at a variety of galleries in Essex including the Beecroft art gallery and he held a solo show at Southend library and most recently at St Pancras church gallery London.Glen’s work is experiential, he works fast and prefers stylised abstraction and the language of symbols, he feels it important to hone his art practice by finding spiritual ways to connect. Residency at IRIS theatre company as a scenic artist, the benefit from working alongside Theatre professional’s alongside being a volunteer for Tate Britain Garden on Common Ground and at the Ben Uri Art Gallery.I had apprentIceship on the Hydelberg printing press I joined the Somerset House Film amateurs club and have started a 30-week course contemporary art practice personal project at City Lit this Sept I have creative marketing combined with google digital garage training that has developed transferable marketing and communication skills and front of house promotion's and events, in the arts and cultural sector. Strong work ethic and well adapted ,enjoys challenges and meeting deadlines. transferable skills include digital image manipulation, database, editing content.
