Extended Development Scheme - 1st 18 month placement

Progressed several key components through manufacturing stages for the Advance 3 Demonstrator engine, by liaising alongside several external suppliers and there related subcontractors. Completed Feature Verification Risk Analysis (FVRA) on key component features to allow for appropriate control methods to be implemented. Involved with creating substantiation test pieces to be used for high risk/hard to control manufacturing methods. Also adopted PPAP and IPPR methodologies used in manufacturing.

I went to various locations to collect funds on behalf of the charity from the public. This raised awareness of the charity and disease throughout central Scotland. To do this and raise funds I had to initiate communication between fellow volunteers and public. Upon collection of funds I was then trusted to count the money before collection from the charity. I further improved my communication skills from this experience, as it required me to talk to strangers consistently.

Was involved with coinciding with other pupils, teachers, captaincy members and school community. We were involved in fundraising events for multiple different charities. We were successful in raising over £5000 for the Meningitis Trust. This was achieved by organising several different fundraisers, in the organisation of these fundraisers I was a member in teams as small as 7 people and up to the full school year of 140. All events organised had to communicated to school pupils and local community. I was also involved in representing the school at large national events as well as local events.

I became the first point of contact for patients' families; I was to aid them in finding there desired locations and generally assist them. I was trusted to organise and file patient information. I was also trusted to have direct patient involvement through ordering and delivering patients meals. This allowed me to further improve my communication skills, as I would be dealing with the public in a time of distress but also provide comfort and support to the patients. This also improved my ability to work in a team, as it required me to liaison with several different nursing teams.
