Served as a Watch Officer, the primary GM Deputy for Readiness focal point for GMD weapon system status and operational reporting; providing synergy with other GMD watch centers in Fort Greely, Alaska and Vandenberg AFB, California on a 24/7 basis. Provided oversight of prime contractor initiated actions from the GMD Element Coordination Information Center (GECIC), and input to the BMDS Watch Officers (BWO) in the MDA Operations Support Center. Provided continual GMD monitoring and assessment, improved reliability of reporting information and assisted in the coordination of maintenance execution through: focusing on GMD weapon system operational readiness status and issues, direct interaction with BWO, BNOSC, JFCC-IMD and Warfighter. Provided improved and expedited resolution of scheduling issues. Reviewed/Assessed events as Commander Critical Information (CCIR) / Infrastructure Reports / BORRS; approved reports for distribution, and conducted follow-up activities. Scheduled GM Readiness Watch Officers in Colorado. Briefed Senior Leaders, provided daily reports and up-to-the-minute status updates.

Supported the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)/Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Independent Assessment former Flag/General Officers providing analyses and assessments as requested by the Program Director/GMD. Directly supported the Director, Logistics and Operations, comprised of Operations Support Groups in Colorado, Vandenberg AFB, and Alaska, Material Management, Sustaining Engineering, Information Assurance and Product Transition Team. Provided chief of staff-type functions for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Joint Program Office responses to Congress, General Accounting Office (GAO), Inspector General (IG), Combatant Commanders (COCOM), Services and Warfighter/Users in the missile defense community.

Provided leadership and guidance to over 100 military, civilian, and contractor personnel in the integration of new and upgraded capabilities to the $100B Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment System and $1.7B Cheyenne Mountain Upgrade. Cheyenne Mountain representative to integration management boards, and approval panels for upgrades and replacements to missile and air warning/attack assessment systems, space control and command control systems.

Commanded a 10 person, joint combat center to detect, track, identify and catalog over 8,000 man-made space objects. Managed a $3B worldwide space surveillance network—processed missile launches, satellite electromagnetic interference, solar events, re-entry assessments, collision avoidance and laser clearinghouse. Deputy Mission Director for the command’s mobile command center. Selected as crew trainer much earlier than normal progression. Trained and provided final training evaluations – Success rate – 100%.
