Responsible for the Connected Experiences and Admin Experiences organizations (60+ engineers) including mobile teams (Splunk Mobile, Splunk Observability Mobile), innovation teams (AR, VR, TV, Edge Hub), backend services (Spacebridge), and the teams supporting the front end interfaces for Splunk admins.

- Started ground level with the mobile team scaling from one team and a few engineers to a mobile org of 4+ teams covering mobile, AR, TV, and supporting backend services.

- Managed and grew the FIT (Framework Infrastructure Technology) team working on our custom web framework, storage infrastructure, and automated/load testing systems- Led efforts to upgrade our systems to PHP7 resulting in a 2x reduction in API response times and 2x reduction in resource usage- Evangelized a microservice based approach utilizing Kubernetes and Docker

- Led engineering team in building our core game product using the Unity game engine- Architected and built most of our core server code and microservices using Scala on the Play Framework

Led development on our photo sharing game app Xoo on iOS (featured under Best New Games) and Android.

• Managed a team of 8 client engineers• Oversaw a native rewrite of our First for Gamers app, a cross-platform social app for gamers which was featured by Google Play and the Apple App Store• Conducted meetings with individual members of the client team to give and receive feedback on ways to improve• Ran standups, managed tickets, and hammered out feature schedules with the CPO• Conducted research into crossplatform game engines to use for our ambitious second game, Life is Magic• Developed a custom UI system on top of our game engine, Moai, to allow for native-level widgets and interactions which was used by the client team to build the experiences in the game• Rewrote and extended various parts of the Moai game engine for better mobile platform support and efficient font rendering of foreign languages

• Spearheaded the company’s first venture into the Android space• Developed significant portions of the client code for one of our top iPhone games• Demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative by taking on additional responsibilities on the server side including optimizing a push notification delivery system• Contributed in a interdisciplinary fashion to by composing music and creating sound effects for games

• Owner for the PDF export, equation editor, mail merge, and IME features in Word with partial ownership of printing, layout, and research and references• Ensured that my areas of ownership shipped with high quality• Demonstrated ability to effectively understand and debug completely unfamiliar code in a 25 year old multi-million line codebase by resolving issues in a wide variety of areas across the product• Took on two additional areas of responsibility when two other members left the team to ensure the product shipped on time

• Provided updated functionality to a web-based book management interface for library partners to track the status of their books as they were being digitized leveraging proprietary Google technologies• Implemented flexible XML transformation system to allow integration of YouTube content with partners

• Translated and implemented parts of an ETL framework• Designed a web service layer to transparently integrate the company’s software with that of a business partner• Prototyped and created an internal web-based management system

• Prototyped and tested circuits for new electronic toy designs• Performed surface mount rework on prototyped circuit boards

• Developed and distributed customized replacement scripts for vital server functions for more efficient database management• Collaborated with product support specialist to install and customize software module that allowed for more efficient handling of support requests• Integrated and updated web-based management applications, resulting in savings of several hundred dollars in outsourced web support
