➡️' ABOUT MEI started a distributor business in 2007 and in order to get clients, I was determined to get known by as many people as possible. So I went to every networking event in town, participated in trade shows, attended breakfast meetings, etc, etc. I also wanted to find a way to advertise to speed up the process and reach more people. Up to that point I had used the yellow pages and newspaper ads very successfully. But I knew this wasn't a good option at that time because people had started going online to find what they needed. That's when I realized there weren't any resources in the industry to market a distributor business online, other than a handful of cookie-cutter, mass produced solutions. So I started reading about SEO and PPC and trying different things and soon enough, my business page was at the top results of Google in my town for promotional products search terms. Leads started coming in, really good leads!As my distributor business gained clients, I also started providing online marketing services to businesses I met through my networking, and they, too, were getting leads from being on the top of Google search results. Each side of the business grew independent of the other, serving two very different audiences, each requiring a team with different skill sets. So at one point, I decided to focus on the agency side, working with business owners directly, which I love, eventually specializing in serving distributors, a business I also love and know well.
