I have taught Art 181, Art 182 and Art 183 at the York Campus. I primarily teach non major students as well as students who do not have a history of deep cultural engagement. I strive to communicate the vibrancy and relevancy of art to their global perspective. I stretch the syllabus to include deeper more theoretical readings that enhance the classroom experience with seminar like discussions. I have also taught art history as part of an educational cooperative between HACC and Kinsley Construction. At the Lancaster HACC campus where I taught in addition to the York Campus I was involved with the management of the Art Space. The Art Space is an independent exhibition space with the mission to aesthetically and culturally enhance the student experience at the Lancaster Campus. The Art Space is collaboratively run by an interdisciplinary committee. My roles have included graphic design support, installation of the art works, contact management and artist relations.Participated in the Art Faculty group show in the Lancaster Art Space, Spring 2013.

  • The Quilt And Textile Museum
    Guest Curator
The Quilt And Textile Museum 2011 - 2012
During my time at the Heritage Center of Lancaster County I primarily worked as a curatorial consultant for The Quilt and Textile Museum. My first project was a collaborative effort between the museum and Dr. Amelia Rauser from Franklin and Marshall College. Working with a concept developed within Dr. Rauser's class I worked with the students to bring the exhibition “The Grid” to fruition. My primary tasks for this project included serving as a liaison between the curatorial staff and the students as well as interacting with the students in a professional and supervisory manner. The result was a year long exhibition that explored the graphic connections between the quilts in the museum’s collection that were formerly owned by the Espirt de Corp and the company’s design principles. My second exhibition with The Quilt and Textile Museum was a collaboration between museum curators and vendors. “The Art of the Quilt” was the presentation of all 82 Esprit quilts in the beaux arts interior of The Quilt and Textile Museum. I focused on creating a vision for the exhibition arranging the quilts to create a space that demonstrated the craftsmanship, variety and intensity of the graphic quilts. I was frequently a tour guide and interpreter for the quilts in the collection. I am an adept public speaker. I use my own heritage as a point of reference and provide a unique understanding of this intersection of the Amish and English worlds. Pictures on Behance.
