I am a playwright of full-length and one-act plays and published writer of career, employment and personal, family-oriented, thought-provoking essays, "how-to's" and travel odysseys that touch, inspire, inform. My work has appeared in The New York Times; Newsday; www.timetravel-Britain.com; www.e-margeaux.com e-marginalia travel newsletter with "New Year's in Vienna." I authored Soul on Fire: Encounter with Mother Teresa and have taught, "Finding Your New Job" in adult continuing education classes. I've published many articles for many magazines and blogs on drug addiction; spiritual enlightenment and horses. I draw upon imagination and life experience. Playwriting an exciting genre, a departure from essay writing.I continue producing personal essays and have ventured off into new territory with dramatic playwriting! I also found a new love volunteering in a horse therapy program, HorseAbility in Old Westbury, NY, with disabled children.My first play, Letting Go, about how divorce affects grown children in the family, was accepted by Manhattan Repertory Theatre for early June 2016 performances. My second play was "A High School Reunion, also in 2016 at the same theatre. Letting Go enjoyed several performances, also at the Northport, LI Festival in 2017 and Theatre 294 in Farmingdale, LI, in 2018. I produced my third play, Trilogy, in 2018 at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in NYC. Trilogy is about a conversation in the afterlife between my mother, Mother Teresa and Princess Diana who each passed away within days of one another. I've often wondered what it would be like if they all met. fourth play, The Wedding Dance premiered in Pelham, NY, in 2020 before pandemic lockdown! I also enjoyed production of other plays on audio and in churches.As a retired career counselor, I empowered disenfranchised individuals in their careers and job searches. It is a calling. I am thoroughly familiar with JTPA and WIA/WIOA government-funded programs though Workforce New York since I was employed at the Town of Hempstead Department of Occupational Resources HempsteadWorks as a career counselor. I held that position from 1993 to 2015. I have since retired from my NYS Civil Service position.
