Created an automated system for improving surface finish and decreasing the processing time for the Specialized Mimic 3D printed bike saddle. Developed for volumes of 50k saddles per year, the system reduced production costs by more than $100k though an 80% drop in production time and 30% increase in yield. Prototyped various methods to improve surface finish through the use of controlled high pressure air-flow. Designed a robust air-flow mechanism through the use of an air-knife that was actuated through a servo-motor driven ball screw and linear bearing system.Designed the enclosure, safety system and firmware. Used gantt charts to help plan out work flow and as a visual way to communicate deadlines with my team. As part of the Design sub-team I designed a system that holds a game piece in last year’s game Recycle Rush. Designs of the mechanisms were first prototyped and then refined on Autodesk Inventor to be built within a six-week period. I had periodic design reviews with mentors from Boeing and other companies. In addition to designing I helped run summer workshops with young children in libraries to inspire them to take interest in the STEM field.

I was part of the Wing Aerial Refueling Pod Integrated Product Team (WARP IPT) of the KC-46 Tanker Program. I gain knowledge and experience with the method of showing and find conformity in part and in testing, military bar code labeling, and the obstacles that exist when working internationally.

As a Freshman I managed team of 8 students over 5 months to produce an ensemble at the Gala dinner for aviation and aerospace honorees and 400 guests. Additionally I organized a seminar for 90 students to learn and practice etiquette. The following year I interned as an interviewee for the 2014 Pathfinder Gala for Colonel Joe Jackson.
