Gloria Li is seasoned leader in government affairs and business development. She has a strong technical background in banking and finance which enables her to successfully navigate strategic and complex public private partnerships infrastructure. As the National Associate Director for Ascend Leadership, she spearhead programs for the Asian Executive and Board Directors network. She also leads the 10X25 efforts at the organization which promotes board gender and ethnic diversity through advocacy, L&D, and strategic partnerships. Previously, Gloria served as the Director of External Affairs and Interim Director of Communications for California State Treasurer Fiona Ma who was the first woman of color to be elected as the State Treasurer . She launched the Women on Board efforts with the State Treasurer as a response to the passing of SB826 (D-Jackson) which requires California public companies to have representation of women on their boards. In this role, she also led the MaSquad mentorship program which mentors students from high school and up to help them become college and job-ready. She has mentored over 100 students.Gloria was recognized as the National Association of Asian Pacifics in Politic and Public Affairs (NAAPPPA) 40 Under 40 and a graduate of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies National Leadership Academy (NLC). She holds a Harvard Kennedy School of Public Leadership Credential and is a proud graduate of New York University.She serves on nonprofit boards including Ascend Norcal, UDC, APAPA-SF, and IDEATE SF, an organization she co-founded. She is also an active volunteer in her community.Gloria is a native speaker of English, Mandarin and Cantonese and calls San Francisco, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai home.
