When I think of Preferred Travel I can't help but smile and laugh. Linda also had a great work ethic and set the example and trend for the office.

I worked at the airport in Omaha, Nebraska (Epply Airfield) because it was a small airport - I did it all -- I worked gates, ticket counter, the ramp, handled lost and damage luggage issues, ordered special meals for passengers, handled various reports including load factor, also assisted the general manager in handling consumer affairs correspondence, and worked a small commuter flight that normally requires the assistance of a ramp agent by myself.This was the most fun job I have ever experience because it was something new and different all the time. Such as a flight the arrived in Omaha that was suppose to land in Kansas City resulting in rebooking all the passengers for the flight the next morning, finding a hotel room for all the passengers, and giving them meal vouchers. It was always a new challenge.I also worked a temporary position at Offut Airforce Base at the SATO office on behalf of Continental Airlines.

This was my first taste of the travel industry. I worked with my best friend Sylvie Lautzenhizer (now Hirschfeld) and her mother Colette O'Brien (now Allen) . They were amazing in their professionalism and knowledge of the industry. I was taught the fundamentals of the industry from the best. This was the first time that I realized I loved the business so much I would loose all track of time and discover I had worked until late into the night. I learned part of the business is doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
