    Islington Mill 2016 - 2023
    Salford
Islington Mill Arts Club is an ever-evolving creative space, arts hub, venue and community housed in Industrial Mill buildings in Salford. Over 100 artists and 50 creative businesses make their home here. We are a vibrant and resourceful cross-disciplinary creative network; a space where conversations lead to connections, collaboration and co-creation. The Mill was built on an ethos of experimentation, creativity and inclusivity. More than just a physical venue, ours is an attitude and approach that unites people. Our beautiful building has a partially collapsed roof and derelict 5th and 6th floors which have been in an unusable condition for decades. These upper storeys have been exposed to the weather, rendering them structurally unsound which poses a threat to the sustainability of our building. With our eye on the future, we have commissioned an architectural plan which includes a new roof and a strategy to revive the upper floors, bringing 6000 square foot of space into permanent use for studio and work space, plus an external elevator to make everything fully accessible.Arts Council England and Salford Council recognise our extraordinary achievements to date, and our current desperate condition. Between them they have agreed to donate the bulk of funds needed for this extensive programme of repair. In order to release their pledges we need to raise something close to £700,000. We are doing this through a range of fundraising events, art sales, donations and applications to trusts, grants and foundations for the arts. • Superbia By Manchester Pride
    Creative Director
Superbia By Manchester Pride May 2016 - May 2022
    Manchester, United Kingdom
Superbia is Manchester Pride's year-round programme of culture. Following feedback from the community and 2014 Listening Groups, Manchester Pride is committed to a strategy to support a year-round programme of cultural event. Superbia aims to support, curate, fund and celebrate LGBT life across Greater Manchester with debate, film, comedy, literature, music, sport, theatre, family- and community-led projects – all with the aim of encouraging engagement and well-being, and to culturally enhance the community. We do this in three ways: 1. By supporting existing LGBT events with free promotion and marketing through the Superbia events page and social media, which we’d love you to help us grow. Submit your LGBT event to us and we’ll take it from there! 2. By funding LGBT events with Superbia Grants. If you need funding to stage an event or programme, you can apply to us for financial support. Each application is diligently judged on its own merit by an independent committee. The events we support include arts and cultural activities, campaigning, debate, health, fitness, events with a message to challenge discrimination, and projects raising awareness of LGBT and HIV issues. 3. By curating original Superbia events through collaboration with partners, venues, groups, curators, community members, artists and creatives. We aim to keep our events free of charge, diverse, accessible, intelligent and welcoming.
