Assistant Earthquake Program Manager
Missouri State Emergency Management Agency
Jefferson City, Mo
My primary duties included public relations, publicity, and marketing for the Missouri involvement in The Great Central US ShakeOut (shakeout.org/centralus). As a part of the campaign, I developed and monitored two social media facets promoting the ShakeOut. Please feel free to view both pages, www.facebook.com/MissouriShakeOut and www.twitter.com/MOShakeOut. At the close of my internship with SEMA the Twitter audience had grown to 108 followers and had an all time high reach of more than 80,000 individuals with a single tweet. The Facebook page also experienced growth with over 200 likes and experienced high reaches of over 100,000 individuals during the week of the ShakeOut.I worked with Missouri SEMA for the length of The Great Central US ShakeOut campaign and helped grow statewide participation by more than 100,000 participants with a grand total of approximately 579,000. 2013 was a record breaking year for Missouri participation and SEMA was ecstatic about passing our goal of half a million participants.
