As a person I would class myself as friendly, open minded, out going, always willing to help others whenever possible, a concerted team player although just a happy working alone. My love of life shows in almost everything I do as does my love of my children and music.I am a firm believer in analytic team training and competitive analysis merchandising both in the work environment and in life as a whole.Analytic team training is a process of looking inside the team you are part of and having the ability to find faults within that are in need of adjusting so as to become more efficient as both a unit and should the need arise as a single entity.Competitive analysis merchandising to me is a process of examining why / what & how competition in the same field are promoting both themselves and their products as single unit to the consumer. This can even be a process used within a company between branches to help understand variance in sales from branch to branch or between regions. In my past employment I have always been a huge believer in Goal orientated retail management and enjoy the opportunity to encourage friendly competition within the team by offering incentives to encourage staff / team members to go that extra yard.I am currently looking into the prospect of doing a course in Project Management with the eventual aim being to gain a qualification in this field.

Technical AdvisorMotorworld Ltd Mar 2002 - Jan 2003Low Moor, Bradford, UkAt the beginning of my time with Motorworld I was merely responsible for dealing with incoming shop enquiries, 4 weeks later the company launched it's Mail Order department. This position involved handling all incoming calls from customers wishing to order items as well as the full responsibility for the financial aspect also. The catalogue had just been packaged with 'Fast Car' magazine nationwideA few weeks later I was in a meeting with my manager showing reports from the previous week when I was handed 3 letters from customers about their experience of the department. After reading the letters twice I began to formulate the idea of a forum for the customers to be able to leave their reviews and views as to how they were treat and how they found the whole experience, whether they received the goods they ordered in good time, condition and so on.I sat and wrote up my plans for this forum over the next 3 evenings at home then requested a meeting with my Manager to present my ideas. On the first day back after the bank holiday break I found myself sat in a meeting with 3 gents from IT and not only my manager but one of the CEO's of the company and was given the floor to explain my idea for the forum for the mail order site and it's use by the customers. This took further 3 weeks to implement and put the idea in to action. As a result of this I mentioned to all customers at the end of their calls about the forum and how their views would be greatly appreciated.Over the next 6 months the forum went from strength to strength and as a result of the reviews of other customers and so customers took notice and purchased similar products and goods and mentioned about their mail order experiences.Mail order sales for the following 6 months grew a further 3.6% above the expected sales forecast for the inception of the mail order department.I left Motorworld a very happy man knowing my idea had created better relations with the customers as well as increased sales.

Dj / Event / Promotions ManagerGc Promotions Jul 1999 - Dec 2002The Arches, Sheffield / NationwideIn 1999 I was approached by a person I had met through DJing and as a result I was asked to put together a team of people willing to attend various club nights up and down the country with the aim of promoting other events around the country. For the 3 years I was involved in the promotional side of this venture I was rarely at home from Friday until Sunday and as a result was witness to some of the groundbreaking events around the UK:GatecrasherInsomniakzAfter Dark / OrbitSundissentialLostOn 15th May 2000 I ran my first solo event at the infamous Arches in Sheffield, UK, using finances I had received as result of a head on collision whilst stationary in a friends vehicle. The event was a complete success due to the promotion by myself and several close friends at the time with a total of 708 people attending the event. As well as the promotional side being a huge help to it's success I also chose to fly in some of the best DJ's from around the globe on the recommendation of Theremin Management owner and DJ Billy Nasty (ranked #1 in the global ranks 2000). I also involved local up and coming DJ's as well as giving residencies to world renowned DJ Mark EG.I continued to run this event for a further 7 months having taken on a partner in the venture in the August just prior to my getting married I announced on the evening at the final event in December that there were to be no further events due to artistic differences with the other partner in the venture.I did however continue to promote other events for a further 2 years.I enjoyed most of all the sense of friendship between the clubbers and myself and staff The most difficult parts of the position were the logistics of each weekend and towards the end of the venture the hostility that was becoming more visible between certain flyer teams and the genres the represented.

Detachment Commander / 2IcArmy Cadet Force Dec 2000 - Jul 2002Liversedge, West YorkshireAfter passing my CRB checks and my Adult Instructors Cadre in November 2000 I became the 2I/C at Spen Valley Detachment - ACF.I was awarded the standing rank of Sergeant and I rapidly got back into the military way of thinking and teaching.I was soon given command of the detachment as the original commander was usually absent. As Detachment Commander I was In Loco Parentis and therefore ensured that every lesson had a full risk assessment before hand. There was a total of 13 cadets registered when I took command with an average attendance of 7 cadets. In 3 months the register showed 18 uniformed cadets and 13 in process with attendance averaging 22 cadets. My duties each night as detachment commander were:Arrive 45 minutes before cadets, check the all rooms for anything suspicious, ensure that risk assessments were in place, ensure lesson materials were in place, check office was secure (no silent alarm),do a stocktake of weapons cabinet, prepare weapons if needed, prepare the range if needed, stock the tuck shop,do register, commence lessons, check cadets performance records, formulate next timetable, continue lesson, end lessons, tidy up and secure detachment. My 3 greatest achievements whilst with the ACF were:1. Being presented with an award from the out-going C/O for most improved detachment.2. Being asked to perform the toasts to dignitaries at the next Sgt's Mess function.3. Being commended as an exceptional tutor after being observed by the new incoming C/O getting down by a cadet to show them fire safety drills in a way they understood (the same cadet was later diagnosed with mid spectrum autism) and passed skill at arms.I had responsibility for all finances generated at Spen Valley and the detachment soon had it's own bank account and was making a profit. However I still openly admit the scariest part of this position was always trying to teach a teenager to handle a live weapon safely.

Customer Sales AdvisorGames Workshop Aug 2001 - Mar 2002White Rose Centre, LeedsGames Workshop are responsible for over 65% of the sales around the world of fantasy / fictional war gaming figures, with 3 main aspects to their portfolio of business these being:Warhammer: The Game of Fantasy Battles (formerly Warhammer Fantasy Battle and often abbreviated to Warhammer, WFB or WHFB) is a tabletop wargame created by Games Workshop. It is the origin of the Warhammer Fantasy setting. The game is designed for regiments of fantasy miniatures set in the equivalent of our own Dark Ages. It uses stock fantasy races such as humans (The Empire, Bretonnia, Kislev), Elves (Dark Elves, High Elves, Wood Elves), Dwarfs, Undead, Orcs and Goblins, as well as some more unusual types such as Lizardmen, Skaven and the daemonic forces of Chaos. Each race has its own unique strengths and flaws; Wood Elves, for example, have the most powerful archers in the game but have poor overall defence and Bretonnia have the strongest cavalry but weak infantry.Warhammer 40,000's space-fantasy setting spans a vast fictional universe set in the far future of the forty-first millennium. Its various factions and races include the Imperium of Man, a decentralized yet totalitarian interstellar empire that has ruled the vast majority of humanity for millennia, the Orks (similar to Warhammer Fantasy Orcs), the Eldar (similar to Elves in Warhammer Fantasy Battle), and Daemons (very similar in both universes, although the precise natures of their creation and existence vary slightly), among others. And also an official adaptation of The Lord of The Rings series of films. As a senior staff member I was responsible for promotion of this system to the customer. Also I was often responsible for general store management when the manager was absent including:Sales, customer service, instore promotion of the gaming system and the required figures / books / paints etc.opening and closing the store, security, cashing up,staff rotas, stock order and rotationas well as other ad-hoc duties -
Holiday Sales RepWvc Jan 1999 - Sep 1999LeedsDirect sales to select couples of the public who had been invited to receive a free holiday in return for attending a presentation on the benefits of owning an exclusive membership to a worldwide network of timeshare properties. This involved meeting the potential customers on arrival at the venue and ensuring they were eligible to receive the free gift as well as ensure they understood they would only receive this after the completion of the presentation..Providing beverages for the couples and seeing them to their allocated places The focus was then on getting the customer to relax until all attendants had arrived. On completion of the presentation I was then to present and personalise the package to the couples so as to encourage sales of the membership at various ownership levels.By use of a Socratic method of questioning the couples were led to admit the product was a very viable entity for them and purchase one of the 4 levels of ownership. On completion of the sale I was responsible for all the linked paperwork to deal with any credit agreement and the ownership of any membership purchased whilst maintaining a positive upbeat atmosphere regardless of whether you had made your target or sales. This position involved quite high pressure sales techniques and had a very rapid and high turnover of staff with most only lasting 4 - 6 weeks if they were unable to make sales and targets set by management. This was a self employed position.
