I am responsible for leading water and land-based activity courses both on and offsite in accordance with the Safety & Operational Handbook. Acting as Course Director I also prepare and produce course outlines, lesson plans, and audio-visual aids in conjunction with own teaching and for centre use. My role also includes giving lectures of general or specific interest to students and public at the centre. I support the Chief Instructor and other Senior Activities Instructor with the mentoring of the centres Work Experience Staff. I may also assist the Equipment Officers with minor kit repairs. Additional managerial responsibilities include overseeing the centre’s daily activity program; leading morning and end of day safety meetings; maintaining an active risk management and oversight of all operational activities and to allocate resources, people, and equipment according to the needs of the programme.
