Cultivating a positive mindset and appreciating the people, experiences, and blessings that surround us in our current situations. Hello my name is Glynnis Chee. I am a final year Early Childhood Development and Education student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). Proficient in Microsoft Office - Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and has basic experience in Canva and Procreate. I am an aspiring Preschool Educarer, looking for opportunities to educate the younger generations. My teaching philosophy is to support children’s development by constructing a safe and nurturing environment and creating ample opportunities for children to investigate, explore, be creative, and wonder. Through taking on the different modules that my course has provided, I have gained greater insights and understandings of Curriculum planning and implementation, Effective learning environment for young children and being a reflective practitioner in the this industry. I'm a passionate and optimistic individual who always seek for opportunities to improve myself and be a better individual, seeking personal growth every step of the way. I have always been interested in working with children and always treasure the time I have spent with they as they bring so much joy to my life with their kind and innocent minds. This preschool provided me with a space for me to learn and grow right before I started my Early childhood development and education journey at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Ever since, I have joined them to be a Assistant Preschool teacher, I have never regretted my life choices to be in this industry and the teachers have always motivated me to be a better individual and a role-model to all these children at the centre. I have learnt to Assist in daily routine care such as arrival and dismissal, and diaper changing. Additionally, I facilitate activities during Montessori lessons, English lessons and Chinese Lessons and this allows me to gain the knowledge of classroom management strategies through observing other teachers and hence enhancing my skills of effective classroom management and curriculum planning skills.

Rhythmic Gymnastic CoachD'Gymnastique Academy Apr 2022 - PresentSingaporeI started doing Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 5. As a gymnast I have competed both locally and internationally, clinching various awards. Amongst my awards, competing in the Leap Challenge Cup by Son Yeon Jae in 2019 was the most memorable for me as I manage to clinch 5th placing in my rope routine. Upon starting this sport at a young age, I have gained many experiences and insights that further motivates me to help the younger generation of gymnasts to reach their fullest potential. I hope to impart my knowledge and experiences in young gymnasts and hope for them to enjoy this sport which cultivated great values and shaped me to who I am today. Today, I am coaching children aged 4 to 8 years old and this allows me to further touch on children's development that I learnt in school to be put into good use while coaching them, enhancing my knowledge and skills on the different domains of a child's development. -
Assistant Preschool TeacherCanossaville Children And Community Services Oct 2022 - Dec 2022I had the opportunity to work as an assistant preschool teacher for this 5-weeks practicum experience, and it was a truly enriching experience. Collaborating with a team of dedicated educators, I actively participated in creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for young children. I assisted in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that stimulated their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth. Engaging with the children in various educational and play-based activities, I observed their progress and provided individualized support to meet their unique needs. I also fostered positive relationships with the children and the teachers, effectively communicating and collaborating to ensure their holistic well-being and development. As this was a preschool with children that have hearing impairment and special needs, I could also gain greater awareness of how to better help these children feel inclusive in the classroom environment and at the same time providing more attention and support to them. They have made me realise how their disability do not affect them at all with their perseverance and resilience in whatever activities that they are tasked to do. Hence making this one month a truly memorable one for me. Additionally throughout my time at Canossaville Preschool, I developed valuable skills in classroom management, curriculum implementation, and child facilitation, all while embracing the joy and challenges of supporting children in their early years of education. -
Assistant Preschool TeacherPcf Sparkletots Preschool @ Kolam Ayer Blk 52 (Cc) Aug 2021 - Oct 2021Through my first practicum experience, I was able to gain insights on the practical aspects of working with young children in early childhood settings focusing mainly on ages 18 months to 36 months. Moreover, I was involved in daily routine care and took on teacher-assistant roles to help support the teachers in class so that they can focus on a smaller group of children. In Year 1, as I learnt the various module such as child development, observation of children in various contexts, safety, health, hygiene and the learning environment for play, it helps me gain a better understanding of these modules and I could apply what I have learnt during this practicum effectively. With observations, I was tasked to plan and implement learning experiences for an individual child, and was also engaged in reflective writing on my roles and interactions with children. This was supposed to be a two weeks practicum but as the school needed more help in managing a class, I was asked to stay and help the school until my holidays were over and I was so thankful for this extended experience. Overall, this experience definitely allowed me to gain better insights in this early childhood industry.
