Helped gain hospital first ever shortlisting for any national award - the HSJ Compassionate Patient Care Award sponsored by Department of Health. Followed by runner-up spot in The Guardian Public Services Awards 2013 in the Measuring Excellence category, which attracted 500 entries from central and local government plus the NHS. The hospital rose from band 2 to band 5 - next to top - in the CQC ratings. Achieved one category winner, five shortlistings and 18 nominations in the NHS East of England Staff Excellence Awards 2013.Helped achieve a rise in one year from 29% to 38% in the number of Trust staff who thought senior management communicated aims and objectives well as measured by the independent NHS National Staff Survey 2013. In the same survey achieved major gain in number of staff endorsing Trust as a place to work and receive treatment. This rating went from below the national average to above.

Led communications team to shortlist of two national PR awards for fully integrated marketing campaign - a foster parent recruitment drive that was one of the first to use mums net - and Event of the Year for three day music festival for residents only that attracted 40,000 plus. Managed international symposium of former Olympic councils - Beijing, Athens, Sydney, Vancouver - to learn lessons for Newham, host borough for London 2012. Conducted communications review of team.During time at Newham Elected Labour Mayor was re-elected with his highest majority and every single seat on Council was taken by Labour

Led media management of major child care crisis involving four infant deaths. Led communications team as maternity cover for Head of Communications and asked to stay on to solely manage media aspects of child care crisis.

Won the top national PR Sword of Excellence award for community relations and was nominated for award by hundreds of residents he helped through the trauma of having High Speed One built close to their homes .
