Compounds Synthesized: Fenofibrate is an anti-hyperlipidemic drug that was chosen for the synthesis of new derivatives. Following work has been done:• Synthesis of fenofibric acid from fenofibrate.• Reduction of fenofibric acid to corresponding 4- hydro derivative using NaBH4 in methanol.• Reduction of fenofibrate to fenofibritol.• Esterification of fenofibritol by the steglich esterification method to get the corresponding ester derivatives.• Chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques for purification and characterization of compounds and developed problem solving, analytical ability with proven planning and decision-making skills.
