- Researcher in Phase II of the Swiss Competence Center for Energy Research (SCCER) on Future Energy Efficient Buildings & Districts (FEEB&D). My research focus is on the potential of Decentralized Energy Systems at the Swiss regional and national scale.- I teach in the "Building Physics III: Energy and Comfort, Urban Physics" course of the BSc in Architecture and in the "Whole Building Simulation" course of the MSc in Integrated Building Systems.- I was an Organization Administrator and Mentor in the Google Summer of Code 2017 program for Empa’s Laboratory for Urban Energy Systems

(More info on my PhD dissertation can be found in the Education section below)Main activities carried out:- I developed optimization models for the design of distributed energy systems under uncertainty at the building, neighbourhood and district scale- I contributed computational models and open-source code to the Holistic Urban Energy Simulation (HUES) platform (https://hues-platform.github.io/) of Empa's Laboratory for Urban Energy Systems I also participated in the Zernez Energia 2020 research project (www.zernezenergia2020.ch/). Main activities carried out included:- Modelling and analysis of various scenarios for the building stock of the Swiss community of Zernez towards carbon neutrality by 2050- Coordination with community representatives and industrial and academic partners and incorporation of their feedback to the development of energy scenarios- Participation in the development of a Sustainable Energy Strategy for Zernez's buildings and their energy systems

Research Assistant at the Centre for Process Systems Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Nilay Shah.I participated in Imperial College's partnership with Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd (http://www.imperial.ac.uk/sainsburys-decarbonisation-partnership/). Main activities carried out:- Performed energy audits in Sainsbury's supermarket stores to identify energy efficiency opportunities- Calculated the energy and emission performance of supermarkets using monitoring data- Reported weekly energy performance of Sainsbury's "first smart grid" store to the store's engineering and management teams- Participated in the design of Sainsbury's first zero-carbon supermarkets

Research Assistant at the Laboratory of Heat Transfer and Environmental Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under the supervision of Prof. Agis M. Papadopoulos. Main research projects carried out include:- Evaluation of night time electricity tariffs for refrigeration purposes in collaboration with BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH- Thermodynamic analysis of a solar operated domestic absorption refrigerator in collaboration with BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH- Assessment of energy conservation measures in typical buildings according to the geographic and climatic regions in collaboration with the Greek Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES)- Supervision of a diploma thesis titled "Technoeconomic assessment of CHP installation in AHEPA hospital"

The internship was about hydraulic and traction elevators. It included a series of tasks accomplished as part of a team, as well as training seminars. Main internship tasks included:- AutoCAD Designs of Hydraulic elevator components- Assembly of elevator components as member of a team- Early stage projects regarding machine toolsTraining Seminars attended:- Design and construction of Hydraulic and Traction elevators- Design and construction of elevator systems for parking lots- Power savings study for the operation of elevators
