Founder & Nocoder

Totnes, England, United Kingdom

TheFlow is one of the first NoCode agencies in the UK to help people and organisations to realise their full growth potential. TheFlow provides honest advice, quality products and advanced services that increase productivity, reduce costs and allow ideas (and bottom lines) to grow the way they should.I am very lucky. I get to work with organisations of all sizes from all over the world who 'get it'... they have great ideas already and just need some technical and friendly help from someone well versed in NoCode & LowCode tools and techniques to help them to get there. After 25+ years of swimming in the sea of change that is "The Internet" I can honestly say that we are living in exciting times right now and the best is yet to come. I love being at the cutting edge of such a transformational movement, being right there with our clients as together we turn their ambitions into a reality and ultimately change their lives for the better.Sometimes, I think of myself as the matchmaker; introducing the right tech and techniques to people based on their wants and needs! I am sure that I can help you to find your love of all things digital and without the confusing jargon - try me :)

Ecommerce Manager

Totnes, England, United Kingdom

Nkuku is a fabulous multichannel company that sells handmade lifestyle products, crafted by experienced artisans living all over the world, both online via B2C and B2B routes as well as in their own lifestyle store in Devon.Over 8 months at Nkuku, I faced some big challenges but with some grit and determination, I completed several important projects and managed to take the company to the next stage in their ambitious growth plans. My first big task was to re-platform the B2C side of the business and with only 6 weeks before Black Friday, this seemed like an impossible task. However, with thorough planning, an informed technology selection process, and an amazing team behind me, together we managed to re-launch "nkuku.com" in time for Black Friday and the peak Christmas trading period.Managing a team and a project like that was stressful but very rewarding; especially to see how well the solution performed for the company with zero downtime and increases across the board in all the important ecommerce KPIs. Customer satisfaction levels were elevated, new product lines were launched like the Indian Antiques range, and new website features made the customer experience better than ever.Behind the scenes, I attempted to make the transition to a new website in terms of internal systems and staff stress levels (!) as smooth as possible. I started with the integration layer sitting between Shopify Plus and the ERP / backend system to ensure orders were synchronised accurately and in a timely way so that the warehouse could fulfil the orders on time.As well as that vital piece of work, I needed to make sure that all the digital marketing channels were operational and performing as necessary which included the orchestration of product feeds, ad campaign settings, email workflows and customer acquisition mechanisms to name but a few.

Web Professional

Devon, United Kingdom

There is no single job title that accurately describes the variety of work I undertake at Agile.co from web development to ecommerce consultancy and digital marketing. As with many people involved with the web from its beginnings, I am one of those people that has enjoyed, and continues to enjoy, every aspect of the modern web and how each thread contributes to a business's success. As such, I believe that brand image is as important as customer services; return on investment as important as the development stack; user experience as important as team communication... today, modern web projects have to do a lot right in order to succeed and so I endeavour to learn as much as possible, to apply my learning to the real world, and measure the outcomes of doing so, wherever possible. We're not in Kansas any more...

Designer, Developer & Manager For Website Reconstruction Project

Resiblock

This client needed a lot of advice and guidance with planning, designing and developing their new e-commerce website. In particular, they wanted someone to be able to listen to their non-technical requirements and translate those into real solutions. My non-jargon, loosely "Agile" approach to web projects meant that we developed each feature step-by-step, with many iterations and NO surprises. The client is happy! For those interested in the techy stuff, listed briefly below are the services I provided / the technology choices made:* Domain Transfers, Portfolio Management & DNS Configuration* VPS / Ubuntu Linux Server Setup incl. Firewall, SSH Secure Access & more* Ruby on Rails, Gems, Capistrano, Passenger, Apache2 & MySQL Setup* Use of Blueprint CSS Framework; XHTML & CSS Validation* Bespoke Content Management System (Rails) incl. Project Manager / Systems Architect

High Cloud Media

London, United Kingdom

This investor backed start-up needed some serious thought to succeed in its hope to launch an innovative yet successful web application aimed squarely at the B2C market. The company began just as the Recession started to deepen in the UK and consumer spending was on a sharp decline. I was hired to guide the business development direction from the top-down based on my experience with the Internet and my balanced approach to new web ideas, and also from the bottom-up with my strong views on Agile development. High Cloud already had some fresh ideas but no technical staff and only an opaque vision of what it needed to achieve. Those ideas needed to be ‘made real’ to satisfy the investors and fast. With my guidance, the web team delivered: the company had a very successful (profitable) website and a lot of new skill in-house in web development and web design practices. As their Project Manager, I know that my web team performed to a high level whilst enjoying the challenge and exploring their limits... there were a few 3am nightshifts but with no grumbling or reduction in enthusiasm I was proud to be a part of the endeavour.
