On leave from C[IQ] Strategies, I focus on evangelizing elections technology innovation, managing operations, and leading Institute development. A recent national poll revealed that 60% of US citizens believe they cannot trust the vote. A majority now believe the existing commercial systems are and have been compromised. Innovation in this backwater of "Gov Tech" amounts to guarantees of spares parts with a security strategy of "patch and pray." Yet, this is critical democracy infrastructure. It is a moral imperative that election technology infrastructure be refactored for a 21st century digital society and democracy. There is a solution; we call it a "public technology option."The OSET Institute is a 501(c)(3) purpose-based, non-partisan election technology research & development organization. The work of the OSET Institute addresses a serious problem in the administration of democracy: increasing integrity, lowering costs and improving usability of voting systems and related election administration technology. We're convinced that the way to bring about innovation in this imploding commercial sector is to develop and make available the software technology as a public asset on which others can build, deliver, and support finished election and voting systems.The results of the Institute's work includes curated repositories for any and all publicly available election systems, including authorized and authenticated source download for certified election systems software intended for production public voting systems.The Institute operates under an open source mandate, meaning all work is led by a Core Team of highly experienced technical architects, engineers and developers, with contributions managed through a carefully curated commit process utilizing a collaborative, meritocratic volunteer community to ensure complete transparency, public review, comment & participation. Left law firm practice to focus on software development start-up providing custom object-oriented software design for legal information systems applications. Projects included contracts generator for Integrated Commodities trading System at Phibro Energy division of Solomon Bros. utilizing NeXTSTEP technology and platforms. Projects also included design and development of earliest hypertext based information system built on NeXTSTEP thatwould lead us into the dawn of the Web and application of Mosaic browser client in legal research settings. This leveraged work accomplished during law school (see Education).

New associate in intellectual property boutique law firm. Patent prosecution, technology licensing work and litigation support. Also was Director of Information Systems charged with managing law firm's 35 machine network of computers and servers, based on NeXT workstations. Brought this, the first law firm, on to the Internet registered as techlaw.com in 1998, earning domain license on appeal wherein law firm was granted domain name on basis of providing "educational services to business on IP Law"

User Interface Architect & Sr. Technical Writer. Designed and developed user interface services for electronic computer aided engineering applications in PCB design and layout, analog and digital analytics, and circuit board routing. Among contributions, participated on a team that developed novel record and playback software utilities for event-drvien software applications SDQA based on UNIX 4.2bsd sockets library, subject of 2 U.S patents assigned to Computervision in 1989. Designed and developed hypertext-based documentation and help systems (Res.Q.U) based on Xanadu technology.Application development work utilizing early GKS tool sets; Display Postscript; C++; Objective C; and Smalltalk
