Lead Elec & Inst Engineer - Apr 2016 - PresentIchthy Hook-up and Pre-commissioning ProjectWorking on the INPEX Ichthys CPF Hook-up and Pre-commissioning project in South Korea sub-contracted to Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), the prime contractor, primarily on the Central Processing Facility. Supervising the E&I team involved in the development of the hook-up jobcards for all base scope identified by SHI as well as surveying and identifying any growth potential. Developing scopes of work and compiling work packages. Assist in the development of the offshore construction schedule and planning. Identifying material requirements for temporary power and lighting during the hook-up and specifying requirements for temporary container offices and workshops. Identifying specialist tools and equipment required for the duration of the hook-up work scope. Employed on a 8/2-week rotation in South Korea.Senior E&I Engineer - Aug 2015 - Apr 2016Wheatstone Hook-up and Commissioning ProjectEmployed offshore on the Chevron Wheatstone Hook-up and Commissioning project on a 2/2-week rotation. Initially involved in performing an audit of the outstanding work and identifying growth scope requirements. Continuing on to develop growth scope and identifying all materials required to complete the approved scopes. Particular high-level attention was required for the large amount of subsea hydraulic tubing, which had to be fully replaced due to ferrous contamination, with Super Duplex tubing. Specified material, procured and expedited in a timely fashion to allow completion of scope prior to the departure of the accommodation barge. Supervised a team of electrical and instrument tradesmen to complete scopes in a safe and timely manner.

Principal E/I Engineer (Jan 2015 – Aug 2015)Continuing on from the position below. Initially contracted is to help complete the close out of the WNB accommodation upgrade project. Review and gap analysis of E&I maintenance procedures and standards within the VOGA system to assist in the relifing process to extend the platforms operating life for 20 years, reports to be presented to Lloyds for verification. Development of hazardous area inspection requirements and maintenance asset register. Assisting in engineering support to operations and project work as required. Engineering support and project management for an upgrade to the WNA PLC and power systems. Development of surface electrical and control installation requirements for proposed electrical submersible pump installation to WNB wells.Integration Manager, WNB Accom. Upgrade (Apr 2014 – Dec 2014 :Seconded from Momentum Engineering)In March of 2014 I was seconded directly to VOGA to perform the role of Integration Manager on the WNB Accommodation Upgrade, integral to the role was to also represent VOGA as technical authority for all E&I aspects of the project. The accommodation upgrade includes for the brownfield modification of the existing platform to decommission an existing additional living quarters unit, relocate the platform instrument air compressor system to a new skid location and decommission and remove the emergency IA compressor, install nine modules in a single integrated building and fully integrate this to the existing permanent living quarters, install and fully hook-up and commission a new HVAC system for the new living quarters building. This upgrade was completed in December 2014, on schedule.

Initially employed as a company representative on site at the Empire Oil and Gas Australia Red Gully Production Facility responsible for providing support to the construction contracting company and ensuring quality control is maintained to client requirements. Supervising all pre-commissioning activities and supporting the commissioning contractor to bring the gas and condensate production online.Upon completion of the site commissioning, returned to the Momentum office and progressed to the Senior Project Engineer role in supporting further development of Empire business concerns and requirements as well as performing project engineering duties for Vermilion Oil and Gas Australia (VOGA) for various small projects.Since March of 2014 I have been seconded directly to VOGA to perform the role of Integration Manager on the WNB Accommodation Upgrade, integral to the role has also been to represent VOGA as technical authority for all E&I aspects of the project. Involved in the Kumul Topsides Rejuvenation Project for Oil Search (PNG) Limited in Papua New Guinea. Promoted to the position of Project Manager from the role below on the recommendation of the resigning PM and agreement of the Clough AMEC and Client senior management. Development of a new strategy to enable the completion of outstanding and new work to be performed offshore in the available weather window. Planning of the new work to fit around the operational constraints of the platform to allow for maximum usage of available work windows and ensure that the correct workforce and materials are available on site at the appropriate times. Formulate and communicate strategic direction and development of the contract and future business with the client. Effectively lead and manage the project team to meet the needs of the project. Identified and actively managed and resolved business risk and project deliverable risks. Developed reports and information from management team and liaised with client management team on overall progress of the project and addressed issues of concern in a timely manner. Prepared project reports for management and client as required. Ensured Clough AMEC HSE standards were promoted to all personnel to develop a safe working environment.

Transferred to offshore to supervise the installation and ensure the timely and productive execution of all work undertaken. Monitoring the quality of all E&I activities necessary to execute the work and maintaining a register of inspections completed. Enforced site regulations in accordance with Company and Client standards and applicable legislation. Established and maintain a positive culture and behaviours within his workgroup/work team and established a good working relationship with Client personnel. Promoted safe working practices to ensure HSE standards were exceeded with zero injuries attained.

Involved in the Kipper Tuna Turrum (KTT) Project for new installation to Bass Strait operations. Primarily involved with the commissioning of new installations to the Brownfield aspect of the project as part of the Systems Completion Group. Role included ensuring that the installation contractor completed all installation to Australian and Esso standards and regulations. Supervising the final completion and signing off of documentation to allow hand-over to operations specifications. Site visit to Greenfield fabrication yard in Batam, Indonesia to assist in commissioning of plant and equipment on the modules of the new Marlin B platform. Planning of integration and cut over of Greenfield installation to existing Brownfield site including minimalising shutdown requirements.

Gulf Of Thailand

Working offshore in the Gulf of Thailand. Involved in the hook-up and commissioning of new platforms installed to the field as well as modifications performed to existing platforms. Specialising in my discipline of electrical and instrument hook-up and commissioning I still supervise multi-discipline teams on occasion when the workscope requires it. The field expansion includes for adjoining fields to be tied back into the main facility and there have been on average 6 platforms installed each year over the course of my contract. Involved in construction hook-up and commissioning of all aspects of the new installations and their required tying in to the existing system. Reporting directly to the offshore construction coordinator, the role involves liaising with all offshore groups including operations, maintenance, well services and drilling contractors. This is a 28/28 day rotational position.

Responsible for development of Project Workscopes through consultation with client and multidiscipline engineering team. Preparation of funding applications for client approval, including cost estimates, economic evaluations, and Project Execution Plan. Management of multidiscipline teams through all phases of projects including conceptual design, detail design, material procurement, fabrication, offshore construction and commissioning to closeout ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are achieved in terms of budget and schedule. Provide support to marine, operations and maintenance teams in response to queries and problems that occur during the normal operation of the facilities.

Working in the Aberdeen, Scotland office. Involved in the Shell MMSC project for Dunlin Alpha and Cormorant Alpha. Responsible for the development of Change Proposals from initiation through design, material procurement, fabrication, offshore construction and commissioning, to closeout, ensuring KPI’s were achieved in terms of budget and schedule. Development of integrated level 3 & 4 plans, logic networks and construction jobcards. Carried out offshore site surveys to assist in development of design workpacks and construction jobcards. Supervised offshore construction and inspection activities for implementation of Change Proposals including four major shutdowns totaling some 200,000 manhours.
