About Gary Mortensen

Doing Things that MatterAs President of Stoller Family Estate, I am lucky to work with some of the finest people in the Oregon wine industry. Stoller is truly special and it's a dream to work everyday in such a beautiful place. I love innovation and pushing boundaries regardless of what the industry or application may be: From taking a fresh look at a mature industry (wine) to being involved in bleeding edge technology that changes how we do things. As a historian, I believe it's also about how we remember and learn from those who have gone before us. I have 15 years of proven leadership in the Oregon wine industry, 13 years in technology start-ups and have been into history as long as I can remember. I feel we all have an obligation to challenge convention and to live honorably. My proudest professional achievement was having the privilege to make two documentary films that tell the stories of Oregonians who served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. My goal is to help insure that as much history as possible is preserved and shared . My mission is to work with a small committed group to re-imagine how students learn. My passion is wine and working with my great team at Stoller Family Estate.Skills: Strategy, disruption, marketing, branding, operations, innovation, military history, documentary filmmaking, data aggregation, payments, start-ups.

Listed skills include Start Ups, Strategic Partnerships, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and 22 others.

President

Stoller Wine Group

As President of Stoller Family Estate and Chehalem winery I work closely with an incredible team to manage all aspects of the company. At the end of the day, the wine industry is agriculture and the combination of Oregon's moderate climate and Pinot noir's finicky nature makes for some of the most dynamic and exhilarating wine making in the world. Since mother nature deals us a different hand every year, it takes a strong team to manage her and we are lucky to have that team in place. Bill Stoller is a visionary who built America's first LEED Gold certified winery. The Vineyards are among the very finest in Oregon and the wines are truly outstanding.
