My services experience ended at EMC in 2016 wrapping up a residency which involved maintaining and expanding my clients storage infrastructure to include enhanced capabilities involving storage virtualization and replication via Vplex and Recoverpoint. I also participated in ViPR controller POC demonstrations for a couple of our enterprise level customers. I participated on the professional services Emerging Technologies Advisory Board where we meet regularly to discuss field experience and best practices to relate to the rest of EMC regarding XtremIO / DSSD & VSpex Blue (VXrail).

As a Sr. Delivery Specialist, I handled installation and architecture activities for the Tiered Storage Division which covers the eastern continental United States. I specialized in replicated unified storage platform (VNX) & XtremIO installations. I worked with an average 40 new customers every year. In addition to new installation activities I frequently completed complex data migrations for both block and file protocols depending on the customer needs. I also maintained some of our area’s lab equipment located in the Dallas office. This consisted of VNX platforms, Dell branded and repurposed recover point servers running VMware ESXi, Avamar, Recoverpoint, Replication Manager, and various other operating system and application platforms. This equipment was used for partner mentoring, which I supervised, as well as internal issue troubleshooting / resolution and the occasional sales demonstration.

Commercial Technical Consultant for the Kansas City office. I supported the EMC sales staff in pre-sales opportunities as a technical resource. My position responsiblities included meeting with prospective clients and proposing solutions based on business and technical requirements. Deliverables included preparing assesments based on clients data, preparing presentation materials and presenting solution proposals based on business financial requirements. Results involved all account exectives reaching their sales goals for two consecutive quarters.

At UMB Bank I administered their SAN environment consiting of McData Directors, Symm 5 and DMX backends, a CFS14 and Centera.

At BVSG I implemented an EMC enterprise storage network, complete with two Symmetrixes and two Celerras using SRDF for Black and Veatch (BVSG’s parent company). This solution helped address their disaster recovery and file service needs, for many of their systems that deal with 24X7 engineering design data that is used all over the world. Before working with EMC equipment, I handled the administration of multiple Compaq NT servers, including planning and design of hardware and software maintenance for file, print, application, and web servers.
