Mr. Giovanni Suarez is a service-disabled veteran who served in the US Air Force and Air National Guard for nearly nine years. “Gio” has worked for several top defense contractors in the Information Security field before founding National Information Assurance Corporation (NIACORP) in 2005. NIACORP, was a SBA 8(a) and a Services-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) operating out of the Tampa Bay area just a quarter mile north of MacDill AFB main gate. Mr. Suarez had over twenty years of combined experience in the military and in Information Systems Security Engineering (ISSE) and possesses security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), and had held the Microsoft’s Certified Systems Engineering (MCSE) certification. Mr. Suarez attended the National Security Agency’s (NSA) National Cryptologic School, received NSA INFOSEC training and participated in the NSA’s INFOSEC outreach program in the Certified Security Advocate certification program (a program offered to security cleared industry partners to the NSA). While working for a large DoD prime contractor, Mr. Suarez had held numerous positions as a lead engineer and security architect such as with the US Navy’s NMCI program. Mr. Suarez has also participated in several Information Assurance (IA) related space programs (I.e. MUOS) and focused his career promoting ISSE practices for Federal, DoD, and Intelligence Community (IC) members. Mr. Suarez is strong advocate to our nation’s security programs. He was also granted one of the first ISSEP certifications in the country and has taught the ISSEP seminar for the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)²® organization. Mr. Suarez is attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for a BS degree in Aeronautics with specialization in Aviation Safety Management. Mr. Suarez is currently retired.
