As the Wellness Coordinator at the JMU Engineering Learning & Wellness Center, I played a key role in the creation of a common space that facilitated networking and collaboration among all cohorts of engineering students. This effort earned our team recognition in the form of a $10,000 KEEN Innovation Grant from the KEEN & Kern Family Foundation for entrepreneurship. Additionally, I worked with the assistant head of the engineering department to host Wellness Wednesdays every two weeks, providing a place for students to relax, network, and learn about wellness for personal development. I also took charge of outreach and keeping in contact with sources such as the University Recreation Center, the Counseling Center, and the JMU Libraries among other facilities to find and bring in wellness opportunities for JMU's engineering population. Through my work, I made a significant contribution to JMU Engineering's mission of producing project-ready engineers who can better the industry, society, and the planet through responsible innovation, including modernizing the First Year Engineering Experience (ENGR 101) and Engineering Decisions (ENGR 112) curriculum.
