CurrentIn his 30 years of legal experience Greg has amassed both generalised and expert experience in a number of practice areas. Without detracting from his broad understanding of African legal regimes at the macrolevel, Greg has notable experience and expertise in: 1.Natural Resourcesi.Oil and GasExtensive experience in the upstream oil and gas sector in South and Southern Africa where his deep understanding and insights in both the legal and political make-up of states has assisted international oil majors in their strategic investment decisions. Greg has most recently been mandated in the establishment of a dry port and related infrastructure on a significant oil block.ii.RenewablesGreg maintains relationships with significant domestic and international clients in the South African renewable procurement program (REIPP) and has focused particularly on solar PV and wind projects.2.Project FinanceGreg is managing a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of clients mandated to establish South Africa’s internal ports, inland roads, rail and related infrastructure. Further ongoing project finance engagements include: the acquisition of shipping companies, and the restructuring of engineering firms. 3.Telecommunications Greg led a team to win a 10-year international multi-million-dollar arbitration. He has a keen understanding of this sector, one that is critical to Africa’s financial integration and monetary system. 4.PropertyGreg maintains large domestic property companies as clients who have engaged in significant domestic acquisitions. 5.Development AgenciesGreg has represented and still represents large development organisations in the establishment of geothermal park in Kenya; the building out of transmission lines between Ethiopia and Kenya; and the establishment of Renewable Energy Power Plant in Burundi.
