When I approach a firm on your behalf (with your permission), I always first do so without mentioning your name or your current firm. This gives you an extra layer of confidentiality. Only when both sides agree that they would be a potential fit for each other do I provide your bio and arrange meetings.My partner and I do legal placement from a different perspective. We are In touch with our client firms and we know what they’re looking for. But our approach is more about finding attorneys who aren’t happy with their current situation, learning about their practice, and then finding them a great fit for both them and their clients. That means we rarely accept retained searches and we won’t pretend that we have a mandate from a firm to call you specifically unless we actually do.
