Note, I did not work for Hostelworld. I simply was a hosteller across many of the hostels they and Hostelling International are associated with, and I enjoy using their logo to represent this period of time in my life. I ran a software consultancy and worked remotely with 14 clients during this time.

During my time with Cardinal Scholars, I tutored over 20 High School students on their schoolwork as well as their Test Prep Curriculum. I tutored AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, English as a second language, SAT prep, and Computer Proficiency. For some of my computer science students, I designed problems that they could solve using a Java or C++.

(Acquired by Yahoo!) At Hitpost, I built the landing page for the bet-on-sports iOS app then known as OnSports. I translated mock-ups into HTML and CSS. The landing page involved simulations of dynamically increasing bet scores for live games. In addition at Hitpost, I provided implementation strategies of various Facebook APIs by referring to work I did on my own project War of Word.

At Dygest, I helped market the iOS app Scoople which polls people on what they think other people think about contemporary issues. I built a flash application for Facebook Feed Gaming and I helped grow the Scoople Twitter following using computerized marketing techniques.

I came up with the idea of War of Word while helping plan a Junior States of America convention. I noticed that many delegates had issues attending because of convention costs and transportation issues. For this reason, I designed a virtual and never-ending debate convention where delegates can discuss and vote on resolutions without ever leaving their homes. My goal was to promote democracy by encouraging people to practice it every day.

I worked with Prof Gregory Laughlin on a brown dwarf search which led to the Intel STS Paper Discovery of 16 Nearby Brown Dwarf Candidates in WISE Preliminary Release Data. We reported a discovery of sixteen nearby brown dwarf candidates and seven temperature-specific (∼200 K ∼ 500 K) populations (∼102 sources) in the WISE Preliminary Release Data. Four of the candidates were between 285 K and 400 K, temperatures akin to that of Earth. Eleven of the candidates were identified by querying WISE with magnitudes based on a pure blackbody spectrum assumption; the remaining five resulted from Monte Carlo variant queries generated through application of randomization factors of 50% and 20% to the blackbody magnitudes of the low (∼ 2.8 - ∼5.4µm) and high (7 - 28 µm) wavelength WISE band passes, respectively. The correlation between the spectra of nine of the blackbody candidates and the temperature-equivalent blackbody spectra was within 1%. The respective concurrence of the remaining two was within 15%. The Monte Carlo queries also identified local interstellar brown dwarf populations (∼ 102 sources) for 7 evenly incremented temperatures between 200 K and 500 K, inclusively. The ratios of the spectra of the 7 Monte Carlo query brown dwarf population returns to band 1 flux values were modeled as third-degree polynomial functions of wavelength.
