I was on the ground working with the US Embassy and Partners for Development from 1995-1997. I would never take credit for "raising" USAID funds... Since 1996, the US Government, primarily through USAID, has provided more than $1.7B to BiH to to support democratic, social, and economic progress. I don't count that in my personal portfolio! I've raised money the hard way, often $10,000 at a time... Weeks' summative article on the Deliberative Democracy experience, published in Public Administration Review, is a key resource for the field. The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) University, a credentialing program that trains and tests local government managers in a set of essential competencies and skills, is a direct result of Weeks' work.
